The Inauguration 2021 seminar is designed as an intensive virtual academic and experiential exploration of the American political landscape. Throughout the seminar, you will encounter a diverse range of people and hear from experts in a variety of academic and professional fields.
The goal of this intensive set of experiences is for you to develop a base of knowledge and understanding that will augment your prior academic learning and serve as a foundation for new insights well into the future.
Kick off the seminar with opening remarks from TWC's Chief Academic Officer and the Inauguration 2021 Faculty Director.
This session will review the role of the government in a public health crisis. The discussion will begin by examining the concept of public health itself, how it’s linked with federalism, the role of states versus the role of the federal government and how partisanship has affected the response to the COVID-19 crisis.
This session will examine what we can expect from the 46th President of the United States. Political journalists connect readers to the political figures they cover through articles and other opinion pieces.
Pennsylvania proved to be a pivotal state in the 2020 elections. In this session we will be joined by the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania who will reflect on her state's election process.
